A spectacular example of Dutch cartography, an elaborate world map by Justus Danckerts. This map is based on Frederick de Wit's 1668 map and it shows the world laid out in double-hemisphere form. Two additional hemispheric maps appear, depicting the globe as seen from the poles. The border vignettes are among the most elaborate of any, illustrating the four elements in the corners.
